Your Child’s Moral Plumb Line – You the Parent!
 A plumb line is a pointed weight on the end of a string. This tool produces a straight line every time—gravity ensures it. The Lord Himself used the plumb line as a symbol of His perfect, unchanging standards.
As a parent, you are your child’s moral plumbline. Your child depends on you to be their example of the worldview you are instilling within them. In today’s society of mixed morals and varied value systems your child needs your help to determine where they should stand on certain issues. A wise man once said, ”stand for something, or you will fall for anything.” What do you stand for? Will your example and guidance be the plumbline your child needs?
God, through his scripture, has provided guidelines (a moral plumbline) to live a healthy and fulfilled life. With respect to the sexual orientation issue, one scripture reads:
Do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived, neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers nor homosexuals, nor sodomites
Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.
1 Corinthians 6: 9 & 10
If this policy, and the potential conflict it may have on the values of your child concern you, then be your child’s moral plumb line and exercise one of the ‘Parental Options’ - doing so will lessen the effect of the policy on your child.
